Name
Political Climate and its Impact on Tax Landscape
Description

It is difficult to identify a period in living memory in which the global tax environment has been as turbulent as it is the moment.  U.S. actions in particular – on tariffs, on retaliatory income tax measures, on the OECD “Pillars”, and in advancing a significant tax bill – have immense implications for Canada’s and other countries’ tax systems, and the investment environment more generally.

The panelists will provide their insights on the direction and ramifications of global tax developments, concluding with a discussion of the influence of both international and domestic considerations on the changes to the Canadian tax system we are likely to see in the “new” Canadian government’s first budget this fall.
